this practical vintage treasure is ready to go back into service.
Occasionally, we come across a luxury item that we can't say no to. This JohnLowin Revival leather case is a true vintage item. Made from luxury crocodile skin with a stunning lining this beautiful gentleman's travelling case was retailed by Finnegan's of Manchester. Finnegan's was a high end departmental store which existed from the late 1800's to the late 1940's early 50's. The manufacturer is unknown, but the quality certainly demonstrates highly skilled craftsmanship. Finnegan's is stamped on the brass locks, it's difficult to date the case exactly, but is thought to date from around the 1930's. An identical case sold in Auction at Christy's in 2011 for £1,800. Other than giving the case a deep clean, nourishing and polishing the leather, this case is in the original condition we found it. Within the lid interior is a removable folio case secured with a strap. There is some slight wear to the back external corners of the case in keeping with its age and we tidied up what would have been the elasticated interior compartments but other than that this practical vintage treasure is ready to go back into service.
